The Vancouver Island Faceters Guild is sad to report that one of our founding members Dan Mooney has passed away. A founding member of the guild Dan was recently honoured by the club with lifetime membership for all of his time, energy, passion and commitment to the guild. He will be missed by us all.
The Vancouver Island Faceters Guild is sad to report that one of another of our members Glenn Murray Dyer of Victoria has passed away in Victoria at the age of 89. Glenn was a talented silversmith, lapidary and wood turner. There will be a memorial service tomorrow, January 9 at 2 pm, at the St. John the Baptist Heritage Church, 57 Glencairn Lane, Colwood. A full life well lived. I have been asked to circulate this information as there are members who will remember Glenn in years past. It sounds like he'd be someone you'd enjoy being around and working with. The VIFG sends condolences to Glenn's family and friends.
